Aloha!

Hi everyone! My name is Amy and I have lived on this beautiful island of Kauai for over 30 years. The “coconut express” is a local term for word of mouth. It is how the news spreads here about events, people and places. My hopes for this site are to aid locals and visitors alike in learning about this wonderful island and to keep them up to date on local events going on here. I want to share my favorite places, things to do and new discoveries. I will occasionally post about other places as well to aid in your travels. Aloha and welcome!

Kapaa Bike Path

Today I went on a lovely bike ride along the coast. The Kapaa Bike Path is on the east side of Kauai. It has gorgeous views of Kealia and Donkey Beaches and the beautiful Pacific Ocean. It is fairly flat and is an easy ride. There are lots of places that rent bikes in Kapaa so you can easily hop on the path. The place I went today is called Hele On. They rent bikes for $5.00 for an hour. It takes me about 45-50 minutes to bike to the end and back, so an hour is usually all I need. It is one of my very favorite things to do here. I pop on my headphones and listen to a good book or some fun music and get some exercise and beautiful views at the same time.
